Michael GarveyAllison O'Kell, DVM, MS, DACVIM - Small Animal Internal Medicine

Dr. Allison O’Kell graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada in 2008. She then completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VMRCVM) at Virginia Tech. Following the internship, Dr. O’Kell completed a residency in small animal internal medicine at VMRCVM, along with a Master’s degree in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences. She achieved Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in July of 2012, and then worked as an associate internist at a private referral hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. She currently resides in Gainesville Florida, and is actively involved with online continuing education course development and instruction. Dr. O’Kell has a particular interest in hematologic and immune mediated diseases as well as clinical nephrology. Her interests outside of the veterinary profession include fitness, a variety of outdoor activities, reading, and horseback riding.
